Absract.

EYE MOVEMENT ACTIVITY DURING READING OF STUDENTS IN LOWER GRADES WITH DIFFERENT DEGREES OF READING SKILLS
Abstract. The study identified differences between good and poorly-reading first-grade students. This reflected in the shorter duration of fixations, the greater amplitude of saccades and the speed of reading, as well as the partial influence of the “complexity” of the text on the amplitude and number of regressive saccades. The differences were related to the degree of maturity of cognitive processes included in the psychophysiological structure of reading as a special type of cognitive activity.

LA BULGARIE ET SON EUROPÉANISATION À TRAVERS LA LANGUE FRANÇAISE
Abstract. In this paper, I highlight the importance of the French language as a cross-cultural key element in the 19th and 20th centuries. This holds true in particular for the development of the Bulgarian language, culture and Europeanisation. This study will examine some examples and illustrate the importance of the French language after Bulgaria proclaimed independence.

THE “ENCHANTING BACKGROUND” OF THE SHORT FORM LITERATURE
Abstract. To revalorize the “enchanting background” of the enigmatic and fascinating Antiquity, which he re-elaborates from its scattered and fragmented remains, the French writer Pascal Quignard proposes anaggiornamento of some ancient literary short forms. HisLittle Treatisestherefore represent an unconventional assemblage of fragments that condense the reflection by endowing it with the sparkliness and the fugacity of fireworks; that search for the deep meaningof discourse by playing with its latent connotations; that translate the stream of thought by fractioning the storytelling. Thissingular narratio brevis, which wanders through ages, contexts and literary genres, corresponds to a world view as a fragmented space and to a writing view as a discontinuous and unfinished discourse.

Absract.

THE RENAISSANCE FANTASIES – GENEALOGIES
Abstract. Addressing the vicissitudes and times of triumph and failure in the life of Alexander Exarch (Alexander Boev – Beyoglu), a Bulgarian prominent public figure, the paper discusses the invention, construction and deconstruction of personal biographies in the period of the rise of Bulgarian nationalism in the Ottoman Empire. The latter, historically defined as а period of National Revival, mobilized the ambitions and efforts of Bulgarian revolutionary émigrés to turn into recognizable political subjects and reliable representatives of the national community. The case of Alexander Exarch is especially emblematic in this regard as far as he constructed his identity of a promising diplomate and politician on associations and suggestions for presumable aristocratic origin, coming from the byname “exarch”, added to the names of his family members. This byname perfectly assisted in procuring advocates for the Bulgarian cause in the European courts and circles, but at the same time, it attracted opponents among the émigrés, who blamed Alexander Exarch for taking advantage of “a fake noble exarchal genealogy”.
The paper clearly shows how the invented biographies worked as an instrument for response and adaptation to dynamic historical contexts of profound and social transformation as well as how they confronted innovative personal strategies, traditional attitudes and local and translocal political projects.
