Absract. In a study on the practice of university professors to use games in education (135 respondents; January –
February 2024), the following curious result
was obtained: 18% of colleagues do not use games (including game elements) in education; 15% claim to use, but rarely and limitedly. There are university colleagues (about 40%) who use games continuously and often and through games achieve a wide range of educational goals. The scope and level of understanding of the opportunities provided by the inclusion of games in education are very diverse – from “in my course games cannot be used ˮ to “there are no impossible thingsˮ. An incentive for the creation of this text are also the inquisitive, but inexperienced colleagues – who want to use games in their professional practice.
Keywords: games in education; opportunities; didactic goals
