Absract. Innovative schools already have a serious ground in our educational system. Initiated “from above", they raise the question of whether the subjective factor is ready for innovation. One way to get an answer is to comparatively examine the social axioms and problem-solving styles followed by teachers in innovative and traditional schools, assuming that SA and SRP reflect teachers' personality characteristics. For this purpose, in a sample of 209 teachers formed by the
“respondent” method, the followed SA and SRP are studied. The influence on them
of the type of school (innovative or traditional) and other professional-demographic factors is monitored. The results indicate that a “bundle” of SRP and SA is formed, which probably assumes a central role for the adaptation of the studied teachers to the complex conditions of professional activity
