Absract. In this article an attempt is made to present the Internet of Things technology and its possibilities for application in the field of education. The phases of globalization and the industrial revolutions in the course of which various technologies arise, which determine and accompany life in all its contexts, are described. Although there is no generally accepted definition of the term Internet of Things in the article, an attempt is made to define the concept. In terms of civilization, this technology has the potential to solve some of the global problems of the modern world - environmental, hunger, health and longevity of the population, the quality of life of people.
