Absract. The presented research was conducted with 48, 9th grade, students during chemistry classes. Students’ activities for independent learning in small groups through the application of worksheets, tasks and projects are planned and implemented during the study. The students’ motivation to learn chemistry was studied before and after the experimental activities using the Students’ Motivation Towards Science Learning Questionnaire, which was validated in the Bulgarian language (BG SMTSLQ). The results indicate that a large number of participants
increase or maintain their motivation to learn chemistry on all scales of the instrument.
