Absract. The growing importance of innovations for solving complex economic and social problems of a global, regional and national nature determines the serious research interest in analyzing the various aspects of their importance for the successful functioning of modern economies and of the different systems within the scope of the social sphere. The purpose of the article is, based on an analysis of basic theoretical concepts of the nature and importance of social innovations, to clarify their role in overcoming challenges of different nature and degree of complexity with an emphasis on their potential for the social and educational inclusion Social enterprises are examined as a successful organizational form for the practical implementation of social innovations, and good practices of existing
social enterprises providing innovative educational and social services are indicated.
Possible guidelines and concrete forms for practical application and implementation
of social innovations to achieve a higher degree of educational and social inclusion
have also been formulated.
