Absract. This article aims to present the historical development of student self-government and its current activity in 107. OU “Khan Krum”. The normative regulation of the student council, as well as its functions with a preponderance of its functions related to the protection of children's rights, were examined. Attention is paid to the mechanisms of children's inclusion in the student council, as well as the different activities of students. The article is a sharing of useful experience in the field of protection of children's rights using the possibilities of student councils.
