Science Teachers’ Views on the Constructivist Learning Environment in the Bulgarian School [In Bulgarian]
Резюме. A survey of 30 teachers from 28 schools of different type and different Bulgarian regions is carried out. A Bulgarian version of the Constructivist Learning Environment Survey (CLES) has been used to study science teachersпїЅ views on the constructivist learning environment, and their attitudes and preferences to the ways of teaching science in class. Teachers consider the present learning environment as a constructivist one but still keeping some features of the traditional classroom. They prefer definitely an environment committed to constructivist practices.

Preparation and Characterization of Activated Carbon Derived from Rubber Seed Coat
Резюме. Activated carbon was prepared from rubber seed coat (RSCAC). It was characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), Braunauer Emmett Teller (BET), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Elemental Analysis (EA), pHpzc and Boehmn titrations. The pore size of the adsorbent prepared lies in the mesopore region, it possess other characteristics similar to conventional commercial activated carbon (CAC). The study shows that rubber seed coat (RSC) is a good precursor that could be used in the preparation of activated carbon.

Method of Measuring of Sun Time with a Cylindical Sundial [In Bulgarian]
Резюме. A method of measuring the average sun time with a cylindrical sundial is presented in this article. The innovation represents the use of a gnomonпїЅmemory system, which has a numerical register consisting of information about the time addition necessary for the average sun time to be determined. This information can be found on the register using a moving, opaque, output point (a top of a pointer) and its shadow.

To Enhance Interest of the Pupils to Chemistry and Chemistry Education [In Bulgarian]
Резюме. The paper reviews in brief the development of chemistry and chemistry education during the centuries. The historic approach in chemistry education proved its power as an effective tool for promoting and keeping the interest of pupils to both chemistry science and chemistry learning. Different out-of-school forms could be used to realize that aim. A review of literature on the topic is presented.

The Beginning of Chemistry Education in Aprilov School in Gabrovo [In Bulgarian]
Резюме. The present study aims at specifying the historical period during which chemistry began to be taught as a separate school subject in the First new Bulgarian school in Gabrovo. The research covers the first syllabi from 1872 designed for teaching at school by Raitcho Karolev and Ivan Gyuzelev. A comparison has been made between programs used 25 years later including the high scientific level and volume of knowledge that were taught in the high school in the end of XIX century. It has been made a review of existing data for handbooks and textbooks used for the school training between 1872 and 1899. It has also been mentioned that at the outset chemistry teaching has been related to the experimental nature of the science where for teaching purposes the school was equipped with an incomplete chemical laboratory which by 1896 turned to a well-equipped one. The historical review lists also some of the teachers who taught chemistry in the Main boysпїЅ class school in Gabrovo by the end of XIX century. The study also provides relatively complete information about Tsani Gintchev пїЅ the first chemistry teacher at Aprilov School, Georgi Smilov and Nikola Bizhev.

Textile Effluent Treatment and Decolorization Techniques – A Review
Резюме. Dyes and pigments are widely used, mostly in the textile, paper, plastics, leathers, food and cosmetics industry to color products. Textile industry consumes large volume of water and produce large amount of wastewater during all phases of textile production and finishing. The release of colored effluents represents a serious green pollution and a human health concern particularly in developing countries like Ethiopia (East Africa). Color removal, especially from textile effluents, has gargantuan challenge over the last decades, and up to now there is no single and cost-effectively attractive treatment that can effectively decolourise as well as treat the dyes effluents. The objective of this review article is to discuss a variety of textile wastewater treatment techniques (physical, chemical and biological techniques) from the environmental point of view.
